Rental contract
It is important to have an official rental contract with conditions clearly stated. If you pay a deposit, make sure your landlord and you agree with the conditions under which your deposit is refunded when leaving the accommodation. Before you move in, look around the flat with the owner, so that he wouldn't charge you for any defects and damage previously done. Every time you pay, ask for a receipt.
Living together with Lithuanians
You might find that the Lithuanians are not very talkative. Young people usually speak English more or less, but some problems could arise while trying to communicate with people of elder generation – usually they speak Russian fluently. Sometimes they speak Polish. In spite of the language problems, Lithuanian people are kind and they will help you using the language of gestures.
