DO

  • try to learn as much Portuguese as possible
  • learn as much information about the host country (culture, people, gastronomy)
  • reserve train and coach tickets in advance for long trips
  • bring an adaptor with you (if you come from outside of Europe )
  • say “obrigado” if you’re a man and obrigada if you’re a woman, which means “thank you”

DON´T

  • cross the street without looking first, even when on pedestrian crossings
  • cycle without the necessary precautions
  • drink and drive
