- look carefully at all the options that you are offered before deciding to rent a flat
- check the condition of the flat even if it appears to be alright
- ask about all the extra expenses not included in the rental price
- read the contract carefully before signing it
DON’T
- get discouraged if you don't find something that you like in a short period of time
- rent anything without seeing it first
- decide to do anything in the flat (alterations...) without talking to the owners first
- pay anyone without making sure that he/she is the owner of the flat or in charge of the payments
