In Finland, you will often be asked for your personal number (when dealing with the bank, tax office, etc.) To get the personal number i.e. to get registered in Finland you must, as soon as possible, go to the local registration office. Finnish people have traditionally a very high membership of trade unions who will negotiate an employee’s issues with the employer e.g. about the wages.

Timing
During your working days you will probably eat your lunch at your workplace. The lunch break is about 45 minutes. If you eat at a restaurant, the service is always included in the menu price. Be aware of the fact that Finns do not do private calls at the workplace.
Time is a very important concept in Finland. Finns are always on time, and they place considerable value on punctuality. It might be considered rude if you show up late. It is therefore important to be on time for appointments, meetings, classes or other social engagements. Finns will appreciate it.
