Calling the police - A robbery
English |
|
Policeman: | Hello, can I help you? |
Ingrid: | Hello, my name is Ingrid Nölle. I have just been attacked and my handbag was stolen. |
Policeman: | What is your name and address, please? Where was your handbag stolen? |
Ingrid: | In Segelstrasse, near “Theodor-Heuss-Gymnasium” highschool. |
Policeman: | When did it happen? |
Ingrid: | About an hour ago. |
Policeman: | How did the robbery happen? |
Ingrid: | It was all very fast. There were two men in a car who asked for directions. Then one snatched my handbag and they drove off. |
Policeman: | Are there any witnesses? |
Ingrid: | No, I was absolutely alone. |
Policeman: | Were you able to memorize the number plate? |
Ingrid: | I saw that the car is registered in this city. That is all I could see. |
Policeman: | Could you see what make the car was? |
Ingrid: | I believe it was a Volkswagen. In any case it was a small blue car, not brand new. |
Policeman: | Which items were in your bag? |
Ingrid: | Oh, everything. My purse, my credit card, my keys, and my ID card. |
Policeman: | Was your German address in your bag? |
Ingrid: | No, I don´t think so. Why do you ask? |
Policeman: | Without an address, the robbers can’t do anything with your keys. Otherwise you must replace the lock in your front door. |
Ingrid: | What are the chances that I will get my bag back? |
Policeman: | Rather low. You should have your credit card stopped so that the robbers can’t access your account. And contact your embassy to get a new identity card. Here is the address. |
Ingrid: | Right, I will go to the embassy immediately and call my bank. Thank you very much for your help. |
