GERMANY | Travel | DOs and DONT´s
DO
- ride with your bike on the bike path if there is one. Be careful when riding on bigger streets. Oftencar drivers are not very considerate.
- Observe traffic rules (that means, for example, do not ride your bike in a pedestrian zone or on the wrong side of the street, turn on your lights at night).
- Always say Guten Tag, Tschüss and Danke. Many people feel offended if you don’t.
- Drive carefully and pay attention to the many (many) signs. Look out for cyclists.
DON’T
- walk on bike paths as a pedestrian.
- cross a street on red.
- address conductors or bus drivers while driving.
- ignore speed limits. The police do enforce them often. Braking the speed limit might get expensive! Dangerous stretches on the Autobahn (motorway) also have speed limits!
