Yes, that's right. The house has four bedrooms. Do you want to have a look around? Are you a student? |

OK. The bedrooms are upstairs. Come on up the stairs. Here is the vacant bedroom. It has plenty of space and a built in wardrobe. There is also a wash hand basin. The house itself is in a quiet neighbourhood with a bus stop down the street. |

Can I see the rest of the house? |
| Room mate: |
Of course. This is the kitchen cum dining room with all the mod cons. Next door is the sitting room where we chill out. Then there is the utility room where we store things and do our laundry and there is a bathroom upstairs. |

| Room mate: |
Sorry, mod cons, are modern conveniences such as heaters, toasters and microwave cookers. |

What about buying food, the cleaning and cooking? |
| Room mate: |
We take it in turns. We have a rota system. One week I cook, someone else cleans and someone else cooks - the next week the rota changes. |

That sounds fine. How many people share the house? |
| Room mate: |
There are three of us at the moment - two girls and a boy. For how long do you want to rent the room? |
| Trainee: |
Six months. What is the rent? Are there additional costs? |
| Room mate: |
The rent is 50 Euro a week and each of us pays 50 Euro extra every month for heating, electricity, waste disposal and the TV licence. By the way, are you a non-smoker? |

Yes, I don't smoke. What about paying for food? |
| Room mate: |
We have a 'kitty' and we each pay in about 30 Euro a month. |

Give me a call about 8 o'clock tonight and I will let you know. I must talk to the others. |
