DOs
- All international students studying in Lithuania are required to have a valid health insurance which can be obtained in the student’s home country or from Lithuanian insurance companies upon arrival.
- Students from the EU or EEE countries after arrival in Lithuania have to declare their dwelling place at Migration Office; they do not need a visa or a temporary residence permit.
- Photocopy the relevant section of your passport and EHIC card.
- Make a note of your country's embassy/consulate contact number.
- Find out where the nearest medical service institution and police station are.
- Take lots of warm clothes, good water-proof shoes (for dark and wet winter months).
- Pay the bills on time.
- Remember your address or have a map where your dwelling place is marked. It will help you if you lose your way.
DON’Ts
- Take too much money with you in the evening.
- Walk alone during the dark time, be careful with drunken men.
- Argue with drunken people in clubs. They sometimes act rude because of high amount of alcohol.
- Keep your keys and address in one place.
