SLOVAKIA | Internship: At work | Cultural standards
Slovaks are very flexible and adapt to new conditions easily. They are also able to adjust to new markets. Personal relationships are important in business. A lot of matters are managed in an unofficial way and they do not like observing rules. Slovaks are charming with a good sense of humour and tend not to be frank in public, but very frank and open in a private life. They are open and usually say what they think. They have a problem to refuse anything and often give promise to do things they are not able to.
Business culture is based on relations.
Slovak businessmen are usually punctual and come to meetings on time, keep the deadlines without a notice. Avoid planning the business meetings during the summer and public holidays.
